Paste a profile URL or just a handle like @yourname. Links are shown as text, so nothing loads from a third party when people open your email.

Images must be hosted at a public https:// address (your website, company CDN or a profile picture link). Mail apps strip pictures embedded in the signature itself.

Installing it

Add your signature to your mail app

Use Copy signature first, then follow the steps for your app. Menu names change now and then; these match the current versions.

  1. In Gmail on the web, click the gear icon, then See all settings.
  2. On the General tab, scroll down to Signature and click Create new. Give it a name.
  3. Click inside the signature box and paste (Ctrl+V on Windows, Cmd+V on Mac).
  4. Under Signature defaults, choose it for new emails and for replies/forwards.
  5. Scroll to the bottom and click Save Changes.

Gmail limits signatures to 10,000 characters; all templates here stay well under that. The Gmail mobile apps use the web signature only if you leave their own signature setting empty.

Questions

Email signature FAQ

Is this email signature generator free?

Yes. There is no account, no watermark and no paid tier. The page builds the signature in your browser and you copy or download the result.

Is my information uploaded anywhere?

No. The form is saved in your browser's local storage so it is still there next time, and nothing is sent to a server. If you add a photo or logo address, your browser loads that image from wherever it is hosted to show the preview.

Why does my photo or logo need to be a link?

Email signatures reference images by URL. Gmail and Outlook strip images embedded as data, so the picture has to live at a public https:// address, such as your website, a company CDN or a profile photo URL. Use a square photo at about twice the display size so it stays sharp.

Will the signature work in dark mode?

The main text has no fixed colour, so mail apps can switch it to light text in dark mode. Secondary text uses a mid grey and nothing sits on a white background. Mail apps treat dark mode differently, so send yourself a test and check it on your phone.

Why does my signature look slightly different in Outlook for Windows?

Classic Outlook for Windows renders email with Microsoft Word's engine. It ignores rounded corners, so circular photos and pill-shaped links appear square, and it can add a little extra spacing. Everything else, including layout, colours and links, carries over.

Why are social links text instead of icons?

Icons in signatures are images that have to be hosted somewhere and are blocked by default in many mail apps. Text links always show, never break, and do not load anything from a third party when your recipients open the email.
